BASED IN EAST LONDON
Hello friends! I’m hiring a long overdue and desperately needed assistant!
I’m looking for a reliable, creative, and detail-oriented assistant to support my creative practice with admin, studio tasks and digital content creation. This is a flexible, part-time role for someone who is organised, motivated, and interested in the behind-the-scenes of what it’s like to be an artist and business-owner.
Responsibilities - These will vary from week to week (i often find no two of my days are the same, which keeps things interesting for my adhd brain lol)
Help organise and maintain studio space
Help manage my online shop and fulfil orders by packing and shipping artwork
Ad-hoc administrative tasks (such as emails, scheduling, stock management, record-keeping, product sales, updating website, keeping track of work completed as well as upcoming work, etc)
Assist in planning, creating and scheduling engaging content for social media and website use that aligns with trends and brand voice
Support with planning, writing and editing my newsletter
Desirable Skills & Qualities
Awareness of social media trends and understanding of brand audience, as well as a keen interest in art/illustration/creative fields
Time management skills; punctual, and able to self-manage while also collaborating closely when needed
Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organised
Basic filming and video editing skills
Familiarity with online shop/order systems such as Shopify or Bigcartel would be amazing, but not essential, as I’m super happy to train you on this!
I am neurodivergent so really appreciate clear, compassionate + upfront communication! I understand we may have different communication styles and needs, so would love to work together to figure out what would work best for us both.
Compensation
£14 per hour (above the London Real Living Wage) for up to 5 hours per week
Plus occasional opportunities for extra paid work on campaigns, which would be:
Paid hourly, linked to a percentage of the fee I receive from the client
Usually a couple of additional hours, depending on the project
Completely optional!!! You can accept or decline extra campaign work on a project-to-project basis depending on your availability/whether you fancy it!
POTENTIAL PERKS
To make this role as enjoyable and rewarding as possible, I’m open to offering:
Free use of my studio/workspace when not in use
Free or discounted prints/artwork
Free Creative Mentoring if you’d like it
Letters of recommendation / CV support
Flexible scheduling to fit around studies, freelance work, or other commitments
Occasional opportunities to attend art openings and PR events together
Behind-the-scenes experience and training in building and running an art practice.
If some, all or none of these sound good to you - please let me know! If there’s anything I can offer that I’ve missed from this list, or that you think would be super valuable to you, I’d love to hear your thoughts and discuss with you :)
